The superbly talented Sara Bareilles is on the road, headlining her own summer concert series titled "The Little Black Dress Tour." She's traveling through North America with her musically excellent and accomplished band, making appearances in cities such as New York City, Reno, Los Angeles, and Nashville. I had the pleasure of photographing and meeting Sara at The Mann Center in Philadelphia, PA; an experience that I won't soon forget! Her openers Emily King and Hannah Georgas were harmonious additions to match the all-around good vibes and exceptionally fun show.
Sara's was one of the most beautiful concerts that I've photographed. The staging and lighting was adaptable and concordant with each piece of Sara's music. A photographer couldn't ask for more! Sara is a fireball on stage and knows how to get her audience involved. Everyone was excited to be there. It was empowering to see so many girls wearing little black dresses in accordance with the theme and profound to hear them all singing along. The energy from the crowd and from Sara had me fired up and I am very proud of what I captured that evening.
My favorite parts of the show were Sara's conversations with the audience. Her ever-ready wit and humor engaged everyone in an intimate and friendly way ... "Guys I'm so dehydrated right now, so I have to keep chugging my whiskey." -and I thought I was a big fan of her before!
She has a few performances with tickets available through the middle of August, so visit her website for tour information!
More posts to come- including Emily and Hannah's performances!
