It was the ultimate cookout at the Historic Wakefield Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina. There was so much good barbecue and wine with award winning chefs and wineries that donated their time to such a good cause. Steve Reynolds of Reynolds Family Winery, Guy Davis of Davis Family Vineyards, and Michael Browne of CIRQ were all there to help raise money for the Frankie Lemmon School.
Samad Hachby, chef and owner of Mulino and the Wakefield Barn hosted the event while cooking with some amazing chefs in his kitchen. Sam Jones of Sam Jones BBQ and James Beard Award winner pitmaster Rodney Scott, Rodney Scott's BBQ of Charleston, provided their perspective on what makes great BBQ. Duskie Estes, The Queen of Pork and Food Network’s creator of Black Pig Bacon & Waffles, flew in from Sonoma to prepare the feast and Locals Seafood served their delicious oysters as an appetizer.
All the guests spent hours enjoying the amazing food that was served and wine that was poured. There were ribs, bacon popcorn, oysters, gnocchi, lasagna, and even a pig roast. I’ve been loving all this southern BBQ! Congratulations to everyone on one successful event!
